The New Normal for Brevard County Homebuyers

Posted: May 21st, 2020

Real Estate is Essential

As the COVID-19 situation has evolved, the Ellingson Properties team has remained dedicated to the health and safety of our clients, our team members, and their families. Florida governor Ron DeSantis listed real estate among the essential businesses, allowing us to continue working with clients, but in such extraordinary circumstances, we needed to change the way we operated to prevent all involved parties from being exposed to the virus.

Creating Distance Within the Real Estate Process

Creating distance within the real estate process presented a particular set of challenges to overcome. For example, many Brevard County real estate agents schedule open houses and broker opens to help market their available properties, but social distancing guidelines made them an impossibility. Furthermore, Brevard is a popular relocation destination for people from all over the country, but necessary travel restrictions left many unable to tour homes in person.

White Glove Service, Virtually

Through it all, Ellingson Properties has managed to adjust our operations, allowing us to continue providing white glove service from a responsible distance. Technology has given us the ability to connect people digitally to the homes of their dreams. Many of our agents hosted virtual open houses, using Facebook Live meetings to give interested homebuyers a walkthrough. We rely heavily on video conferencing to stay in touch with clients and other people essential to the real estate process. When we do meet with homebuyers, we ensure conditions are sanitary, arrive with the appropriate protective equipment, and we never let showings overlap.

The New Normal for Homebuyers?

Will such precautionary measures become the new normal for Brevard County homebuyers? For the foreseeable future, yes. But distance hasn’t prevented us from providing buyers with the luxury experience from start to finish. One client, Sharon, said, “I could not have purchased [my] home without Connie -- she went above and beyond to help me since I was 300 miles away and during a pandemic...Connie made it seem seamless.”

The Market is Still Active

Although the current economic climate is causing uncertainty, rates are still at historic lows and mortgage programs are available to help all types of buyers.  Experts predict that the housing market will be active this summer now that states and counties are reopening for business. In all industries, people are seeking their new normal. Rest assured that the Ellingson Properties team will continue to focus on providing excellent service to create excellent results.
